Karnal, Haryana: In a positive step toward environmental protection, local volunteers and municipal authorities in Karnal recently organized a tree-plantation and lake-cleaning drive near Karna Lake. Students, social organizations, and residents participated together to improve the city’s green cover and reduce pollution.
More than 500 saplings were planted around public parks and roadsides, while another team collected plastic waste and garbage from the lake area. Officials encouraged citizens to avoid single-use plastic and to take part in similar activities in the future.
Environmental experts say such community programs help improve air quality, protect biodiversity, and keep public spaces clean. Residents appreciated the initiative and promised to care for the newly planted trees.
The campaign shows how community participation can make Karnal cleaner and greener, inspiring other cities to take similar steps.
